Independent business weekend, taking place on the 2nd and 3rd July is a perfect way to celebrate independent businesses in the town centre. Luton is full of amazing businesses offering a wide choice of products and services to a bustling diverse town. We love all the independent businesses in the town centre and have compiled a list of a few of those businesses for you to check out…

RedInc
Established in 2011, RedINC is Luton’s premier tattoo studio, established in 2011. Classically trained tattooists with years of experience in art, tattooing and designing with each tattooist having their own specific style. Custom designs are even created free of charge!
Based on Guilford Street, RedINC is run by a brilliant team of tattooists specialising in neo traditional, black and white, portrait, realism, old skool and custom print. So, if you’re looking for a spot of tattooing, check out RedInc.

Triple Two Coffee
A brand-new coffee shop right in Luton town centre, perfect for lunch-time working or if you’re on the way to the office after a long weekend. Get your coffee run in for the day ahead in Triple Two Coffee, a cool new coffee shop aimed at brightening up your day!
A stylish modern interior, this is a great spot for a mid-afternoon meeting, why not take a tour through Luton’s coffee shops and put Luton’s expert baristas to the test.

Vinyl Revelations
Luton’s only independent record shop has been in Luton town centre for over 28 years, Vinyl Revelations on Cheapside is run by DJ and promoter Andy Chesham. Initially beginning in Luton’s Indoor Market, mainly selling merchandise, Vinyl Revs has been all throughout the town centre.
Roots now in Cheapside, selling a wide range of music, from Heavy Metal, Soul, Jazz, Indie, 70’s Rock, 50s Rockabilly to the latest music. There are so many hidden gems to be found through the racks at Vinyl Revelations.

The Bear Club
Did you know Luton is home to a worldwide famous jazz venue? The Bear Club is home to the best jazz, blues, country, folk performers on a national and international basis. Run by filmmaker and photographer Justin Doherty, the Bear Club is a brilliant independent venue bringing amazing talent to the people of Luton and beyond.
On Thursday’s you can expect a chilled-out evening with friends, fantastic craft drinks and food supplied by Monstera. Friday and Saturday are the nights to enjoy live Bear music, the perfect venue for anyone looking to hear live Jazz or Blues by amazing artists.

Monstera
Speaking of Monstera, run by an amazing team, Monstera is Luton town centre’s first Vegan restaurant! Good Vegan food for all to enjoy, whether you’re Vegan or simply looking to reduce the meat and dairy in your diet. Greg first opened Monstera three years ago on Cheapside and has gone from strength to strength. You’ve probably seen Greg and his team out and about at local town centre-based events, and most likely enjoyed their amazing food!

Little Red Arts
Anyone eager for a space to bring out your inner creative spirit, Little Red Arts is the perfect arts venue to check out. By day you can get messy and let your creative juices run free, by night you can pack the paint pots and brushes away and enjoy live music. Run by Aimi Rix, a local artist, Little Red can be hired for studio work, art space, venue hire and much more. Right on George Street, Little Red Arts is in the centre of the town centre for all to enjoy.

Benjamin’s Café
Seated on Upper George Street, Benjamin’s Café has been a new addition to Luton town centre. Opening in late 2021, Benjamin’s Café brings a sprinkle of Hollywood glamour with their delicious dessert items. It’s hard to pick a favourite item from their menu, from Vegan breakfast to yummy crepes and tasty mains, Benjamin’s Café is well worth a visit!

Panama Hats
Hat making in Luton hasn’t faded, Panama Hats based in The Hat Works is keeping the flame well and truly burning in the creative part of the town centre. Starting over 30 years ago when Jenny visited Ecuador, falling in love with the art of making Panama’s, she brought her love back to Luton. Today, mother and daughter team, Jenny and Mavi work together, with Mavi’s organisational skills and modern aesthetics with Jenn’s eye for timeless Panama hat fashion. Resulting in a strong collaboration.
